Struggling café owner lets homeless man work a day, but 2 weeks later she walks in and he’s still there

It all began when a homeless man named Marcus walked into Abi’s cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

He looked straight into the eyes of the cafe’s owner, Cesia Abigail, and asked for money.

“Why don’t you have a job?” she answered, adding, “You know nothing is given to me for free, right?”

The homeless man told Cesia that what he wanted most in the world was a job.

But his c-r.i.m.i.n.a.l record prevented him from finding a job and he was forced to retreat to life in the streets.

Marcus’s story hit Cesia right in the chest – and she immediately decided to put her money where her mouth is.

Cesia is the 20th owner of Abi’s Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

As a struggling café owner, life wasn’t exactly easy for Baires.

She had struggled for a long time to keep her café afloat, and it wasn’t always easy.

When the homeless man walked into her café that day, her heart ached for him.

Being overworked herself, she actually needed a helping hand, although she could barely afford it.

That way, Cesia could take some pressure off herself, and help him earn some money. Marcus gratefully accepted.

”He came into the cafe one day asking me for some $$. I looked at him and asked him “Why don’t you have a job, you know nothing is given to me for free right? he said “Well, I have a lot of f-.e.l.o.n.i.e.s and no one wants to hire me for that, so now I had to turn myself to the streets and get money the only way I know, Stealing and asking for money. I was short staff that day. So I asked him “You want to work? I have a job for you! His eyes opened wide and his smile made my day!!!! He said I’ll do anything for some food. So now for almost 2 weeks, he has been on time for his two-hour shift…. helping take trash, washing dishes, etc. Once I pay him guess what he does? He buys food from my restaurant (HE DECIDES TO PAY) because it makes him feel good!
He gets a discount!!!!! Do something nice for someone today and don’t judge them just because they out there asking for money because we don’t know their situation… some deserve another shot. God gave me this blessing so why can’t I bless others? 😜 this is what should break the internet, We want change? Well, start by making one 😉”

After Cesia decided to use Facebook to spread the word about Marcus and the importance of doing something kind to someone, her message took off.

People all over the world were blown away by how Baires paid it forward. People were also very impressed with Marcus’ good attitude.

Many even offered to donate to him, so Baires created a crowdfunding page where she surpassed her $1,000 goal with over $8,000.

I think most homeless people don’t want to be homeless, but circumstances prevent them from finding a job. Marcus seemed delighted to be able to work for a living. I bet he gave her more than she gave him.
