A man is in a convenience store when he sees a dog walk in, carrying a bag in its mouth.
Curious, he watches as the dog pulls out a list and some money, handing it over to the clerk like a pro.
The clerk starts packing the groceries but tries to shortchange the dog. The dog stares at the missing money, then at the clerk, and growls, “Grrrrr.”
Flustered, the clerk sighs, “Alright, alright,” and gives the dog the rest of the change. The dog puts everything back in the bag and strolls out.
Now this is something the man has to see to the end! He follows the dog…
The dog stops at a traffic light and waits for the signal before crossing.
It reaches a building, jumps up, and presses an apartment number with its paw. The door buzzes open.
The man sneaks in behind as the dog gets into the elevator, presses the 8th floor, and heads to a door.
Once there, the dog scratches at the door. An older man opens it and starts yelling at the dog!
The man steps in. “Excuse me, sir! But this is the most amazing dog I’ve ever seen! I watched it buy groceries, check its change, find its way home, and now you’re calling it stupid?”
The old man sighs and says, “Amazing? This is the THIRD time this week the dumb mutt forgot his keys!”

From his collar and well-fed belly, the dog could tell he had a home and was well cared for.
The dog calmly approached the man, who patted him on the head.
The dog then followed the man into his house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner, and fell asleep.
An hour later, he went to the door, and the man let him out.
The next day, the dog was back.
He greeted the man in his yard, walked inside, and resumed his spot in the hall, again sleeping for about an hour.
This continued on and off for several weeks.
Curious one day, the man pinned a note to the dog’s collar, “I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful, sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.”
The next day, the dog arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar, “He lives in a home with six children, two under the age of three; he’s trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?”
