Can YOU count these bars?
The following challenge requires your careful eyes, there is a row of bars of the same length.
Can you count how many there are?
At first glance, it looks easy.
But after trying to count, it creates confusion.
A tip: Count from their bottom ends and you’ll get eight of them, but count them from the top ends – where their bases aren’t exposed – and there appears to be only seven.
So, how many do you see?
A
B
C
Here’s the answer!
The first five make sense, but frustration kicks in when it comes to the closest three – which turn out to be an optical illusion.
The answer, therefore, is that there are five ‘complete’ bars in a row, plus one on the very end, which makes six complete bars in total, and the rest are just visual trickery.
